Increasing Equity in Academic Technology Commercialization
The New Jersey Equity in Commercialization Collective (NJECC) is an NSF ADVANCE-funded program that was created to address equity issues in academic technology commercialization and eliminate systemic barriers at all levels. Our team is focusing on two program areas to achieve these changes: Gatekeeper Training & Support and Inclusive Ecosystem Network Development. The NJECC will be partnering with universities and organizations throughout New Jersey as part of this systemic change initiative.
The NJECC’s goal is to address the significant equity issues in academic technology commercialization through focusing on identifying and eliminating systemic institutional and entrepreneurial ecosystem barriers, as well as increasing the diversity of STEM faculty researchers who participate in New Jersey’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. The program is funded by an NSF ADVANCE grant, which aligns with the program’s mission of supporting systemic, institutional change through an intersectional approach.
As part of NJECC’s work to increase equity in academic technology commercialization, we are leading several initiatives throughout the state of New Jersey. Learn more about Our Initiatives here.
NJECC also works in collaboration with Partner Universities and Organizations throughout New Jersey, as well as an Advisory Board comprised of distinguished experts, to implement its systemic change initiatives. Learn more about our Partners and Advisory Board here.
