NJECC Initiatives

Gatekeeper Training & Support

Our Gatekeeper Training & Support initiative engages academic departments, tech transfer offices, venture/entrepreneurship centers, and angel & venture capital groups to address barriers to inclusive entrepreneurship. We address these barriers through outreach, support, curriculum design and implementation, decision making, and culture changes. Work with these gatekeeper groups focuses on cultivating evidence-based decision making, self-reflection, transparency, accountability, and equity.

Inclusive Network Development

Our Inclusive Network Development brings women faculty and gatekeepers together to build relationships via events and mentoring initiatives. We are working to create a statewide network that supports intersectional equity in innovation.

Collaboration with NJIT Cybercorps SFS – Secure Computing Initiative

NJECC actively collaborates with the NJIT Cybercorps Scholarship for Service (SFS) – Secure Computing Initiative (SCI) to link the mentoring components of both programs synergistically in order to strengthen support for underrepresented minority women in STEM. This is a natural partnership, as peer mentoring is an integral part of both programs.

This program is supported by NSF ADVANCE Partnership: New Jersey Equity in Commercialization Collective

(NJECC), NSF award HRD-2121941.
